About Me

My Psychotherapy Sessions:

I am primarily a Mindful (Spirituality meets the formality of Psychology) based psychotherapist utilizing trauma-based interventions that I have experienced for my life’s little “t’s” and Big “T’s” such as Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM) and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Yoga Therapy Skills (No Mat Required) and solution focused that deepen your connection to your authentic self and to others. I have been living my practice for over 31 years which is how I remain deeply interested in what serves you to improve your life. Let's find solutions for your life that makes sense to you on all levels: Physical Level, Emotional Level, Mental Level, and Spiritual Level (P.E.M.S.).

This journey includes an MA in Counseling Psychology and a current New York State License and a California State License as a Marriage and Family Therapist in good standing. Additionally, I have an MFA in Theater Directing - Chairperson Theater Department at a NY state Community College; trained in EMDR with several EMDR cutting edge trainings; trained in CRM - Comprehensive Resource Model; trained in Mindfulness Practices; have a Kripalu Certification for Yoga Practitioner; completed a Certification in Barbara Brennan Graduate -Holistic Health Practitioner; certified in trainings in Sex Addiction and Substance Abuse issues.  I have trained in Somatic Emotional Release Therapy, Tapping for Emotional Release and Yoga for Anxiety, Yoga for Depression, Yoga for First Responders and Yoga for Alcohol/Drug Addictions.  Additionally, I have an extensive training that I utilize in my therapy practice when appropriate, in exploring spiritual traditions such as Shamanism and Buddhism and Shakti Yoga.

My personal journey:

In the early 1980’s I was presented with a stress related medical problem, a divorce and quitting smoking cigarettes. I found solutions to these stressors and trauma through spiritually based 12 step programs, multi-level psychotherapeutic processing, Yoga based somatic emotional release work and nutrition. I was filled with gratitude then, for those life changes, as I continue to be grateful now for the gifts presented by these combined practices. I use Spiritual Awakening 12 Steps; Yoga; Meditation and other spiritual practices daily for my support.  And just for fun:  I love being outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions.  You’ll find me walking, hiking, Kayaking as well as doing Yoga (inside and outside), gathering with friends enjoying food, and life. Also, laughing, lots of laughing because it keeps me and all of us sane during these trying times.
